"Sunny Fire"

Just thought I'd start sharing my work with you. This is one of my poems from about March 2005.

"SUNNY FIRE"

Fierce, dangerous, passionate, intense, proud, serious, determined, creative, high-strung, witty, colorful, imaginative, protective, protected, visionary, perceptive, a dreamer,

Fierce in her actions
Pride written all over her face
Her steps directing a tango dance
Her mind wandering into its own abyss
Wings covering her protectively
An entire country worships her
Determined to make it work
Danger in her eyes, pain in her heart
Break away from the crowd
Run away from the people
Hiding in a brown room
Wishing she were anywhere else

Passion enraptures her soul
Her candy-coated personality is hidden
The sun once shone is blocked from view
Her face turns to ash; her fire dwindles
The clock turns; her heart races
Her world is turned upside down
Her country turns against her
Alone in the wilderness
Wandering the streets alone
Wishing she were anywhere else.

Blinks her eyes
She’s still here
No magical spell
No hidden dimension
No escape from her destiny
No escape from her fate.
No escape from herself.

The protective wings burned away
Her light destroyed
Her passion murdered
Her pride still stands
Beyond the pain
Beyond the tears
Beyond the grave

Pictures reflect her fierce presence
Pictures show her prideful glare
Pictures present her light
But they do not show her soul.
This is hidden from everyone.
Hidden from view
Hidden from people.
Hidden forever.
